Forming methods of straight seam steel pipe

The comparative study of different forming methods shows that the edge forming effect of single-radius and double-radius forming method is poor, while the forming method with three-radius W shape is better. Based on the numerical simulation results, a design method for the forming process of medium-diameter welded pipe Φ219x6 is proposed, the billet deformation and roll distribution diagrams are designed and drawn, and the structural dimensions of the first horizontal roll are designed in detail using the three-radius W-shape.


Finally, a cost-effective design method combining empirical design and numerical simulation is proposed. The work in this paper lays a foundation for guiding the design of welded pipe hole pattern, roll pattern and forming process, improving the quality of welded pipe and realizing the transition from empirical design method to numerical simulation-based method for the design of welded pipe holes, roll patterns and forming process.


In engineering practice, straight seam welded pipe forming process and forming unit design is still using empirical design methods, the main disadvantage of empirical design methods is that the rationality of the process and roll design must be tested through production practice, high cost and long cycle, not suitable for the development of the market economy.


The use of elastic-plastic large deformation and contact nonlinear finite element method, the application of large-scale multi-physical field finite element software - ANSYS, the establishment of a more realistic three-dimensional finite element model of the welded pipe molding process, the study of small-diameter welded pipe billet in a single pass, multiple passes in the molding process, access to the billet in the molding process, the change of the distribution of the stress, the change of the strain law and the curvature, The law of change of pressure and leaning force, and made a three-dimensional distribution of stress and strain on half of the billet.


Forming method considering the baseline constant single-radius forming method, downhill single-radius forming method and downhill double-radius forming method of three molding methods, the study of the various molding methods and billet wall thickness on the stress, strain, curvature of the impact of the pressure on the molding process is taken into account.


LSAW pipe forming process belongs to the elastic-plastic large deformation and contact nonlinear multiple nonlinear coupling problems, so that the theoretical and experimental research lags far behind the engineering practice, even with the finite element method there are many difficulties, there is no complete numerical simulation research work.
