In international engineering projects, delivery is not always the end of the story. Sometimes, it is only the beginning.
A few years ago, Centerway Steel supplied a batch of seamless steel pipes for a major infrastructure project in Thailand. These included 3PE coated steel pipes and other coated pipes designed for corrosion resistance, ensuring long-term durability for the project. Everything was on schedule—until an unexpected issue occurred during unloading at the project site.
Due to improper handling by local workers, several pipes—including some anti-corrosion seamless pipes—were damaged during unloading. Although the problem did not originate from manufacturing or packaging, it created serious concerns for the project timeline and installation schedule.
For many suppliers, this might have been considered “not our responsibility.”
But for Centerway Steel, supporting the customer is always our priority.
As soon as we received the news, our management team made a decision:
send two experienced engineers directly to Thailand to inspect and resolve the issue on-site.
Within days, our engineers arrived at the project location and worked closely with the customer’s team. They assessed the damaged seamless steel pipes, guided repairs and replacements, and helped the local team improve handling of 3PE coated steel pipes and other coated pipes, preventing similar issues in the future.
For several days, our engineers stayed on site, working side by side with the customer’s staff until the problem was completely resolved. The project continued without major delay.
What touched the client most was not only the technical solution, but the attitude.
They later told us:
“Many suppliers would have simply said the damage happened during unloading and refused to take action. But Centerway Steel sent engineers thousands of miles away just to make sure our project could continue. That showed us who we can truly rely on.”
